Een paar weken geleden kreeg ik een tip, kijk eens naar de web-boutique vanOrangeMayonnaise.com, een nieuwe online kinderwinkel. Zo nieuwsgierig als ik dan ben, een paar clicks verder opent daar een prachtige webshop.

Wat een verrassing; mooi design, duidelijke website, gave shop the look en vernieuwend drag & drop systeem, om zo je eigen outfit samen te stellen. Natuurlijk ben ik dan nog niet tevreden, en ga ik op zoek naar de persoon erachter. De middag er na had ik Annika, de eigenaresse aan de telefoon. Vol passie en enthousiasme vertelt ze me over haar achtergrond én Orange Mayonnaise.

Na de modeopleiding aan de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam, kreeg Annika een vliegende start, door de bekendheid als finalist van de Robijn Fashion Award, met de publieksprijs in 2000. Na alle jaren als onafhankelijk ontwerpster en stylist voor verschillende nationale en internationale warenhuizen, labels en merken te hebben gewerkt, is het nu tijd voor een nieuwe uitdaging. Orange Mayonnaise is een droom van Annika die werkelijkheid is geworden. Het brengt namelijk 2 grote passies uit haar leven samen; kinderen en mode. OrangeMayonnaise is een wereld waar kinderkleding, speelgoed en accessoires verstrengelen met de behoefte aan unieke, spannende en vrolijke items.

Het doel van OrangeMayonnaise is om “comfortabele en kwalitatief hoogwaardige kleding en accessoires te presenteren die het dagelijkse leven van ons en onze kinderen een beetje specialer zouden kunnen maken….” , dat klinkt toch ge-wel-dig!!!

Fluid, soft, new proportions and glamorous details, but never forgetting functionality and practicality.
This sums up the recipe for the autumn/winter 2012-2013 Patrizia Pepe kid collection. Each garment is designed to be worn with joy and confidence. It is the season of volumnes; new 'box' fits, boule shapes, medium-length skirts, the real must-have of the season. All os this paired with a strong and decisive character.
The collection is focussed on a concept of freedom of movement and thought, a basic piece becomes a glamourous element with layering of cardigans and maxi-jumpers: mixing is the key.
T-shirts have an important role: extremely unique, with ironic details, photographic techniques, romantic themes, watercolor effects and embellished by gems, rhinestones, studs and glitter.
Black'and white are revisited with the style and elegance of the sixties, highlighted by touches of red in the graphic play of the t-shirts and accessories.
Tweed mixed with roman stitch and lines of knitwear with an updated wearability give a decidedly chic and contemporary appeal to the theme.
A look that is elegant and casual is the blue and bordeaux theme; traditional colors break up sobriety for innovative solutions.
There is plenty of space for dresses in blue chenille with couvette necklines alongside day-by-day garments' shirt and skirt in a delightful checked pattern, a woolen jersey mini-dress to be worn over denim and jeggings that have become a real cult trend for children.

All of this is mixed with oversized trousers in over dyed houndstooth, stone-washed grey denim and garments in fleece with new volumes - so as to never neglect the style of the brand.
Necklines and hats in rabbit fur, bags in soft leather and colored patent leather, warm mohair shoes, ocelot print belts and thin belts in soft suede alongside unique models inspired by the seventies with leather thongs and applique flowers, these all enhance the outfits of the very young girls who inhabit the dynamic and contemporary world of under-sixteens.

Award winning Ao collection online at Orange Mayonnaise

The first part of the award winning Winter 2012 Collection of American Outfitters is now online at Orange Mayonnaise ! This collection is awarded by Milk Magazine during the trade fair in Paris, called 'Playtime'. This is the trade show where the new collections are presented to shop owners and magazines. The American Outfitters collection is awarded with the first price for best kids collection!
